Credit institutions provide more traditional loans to fund business ideas. By definition, credit institutions receive cash deposits and other repayable funds from the public and grant loans directly on their own and/or through other financing. Some of these even promote financing that allows social entrepreneurs or ingenious individuals to realize their projects.

Banca Prossima (Gruppo Intesa Sanpaolo)
Banca Prossima is the bank of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group dedicated exclusively to the religious and secular non-profit environment. By statute Banca Prossima “has as its goal the creation of social value. (…) To this end, it will support with credit the best nonprofit initiatives for services to persons, the diffusion of culture and education, the use and protection of the environment and art, access to credit and work.” (Art.4 of Banca Prossima’s Statue).
Mediocredito Italiano (Gruppo Intesa Sanpaolo)
The energy desk caters to all entrepreneurs who have planned investments in renewable energy or energy efficiency projects, and is responsible for evaluating projects from a technical-industrial standpoint, with special attention to the financial sustainability of the initiatives. It provides a complete service, ranging from credit issues to counseling on the new technologies. The greatest ferment lies in the photovoltaic, biogas and biomass installation sectors, thanks to strong government incentives. Consultancy activities aim at illustrating to entrepreneurs and facilitating their access to investment benefits such as subsidized loans, capital grants and tax breaks, in accordance with criteria determined by each Region.
